Surface Design

My surface design work translates my visual language into repeating patterns and illustrations intended for everyday use. Rooted in hand-drawn and painterly processes, these designs draw from natural history, vintage textiles, and a sense of playful curiosity—featuring botanicals, insects, and abstracted organic forms. I approach pattern as both structure and storytelling, where rhythm, colour, and repetition create a quiet sense of cohesion and familiarity. Moving between analogue and digital processes, each design evolves through layering and refinement, allowing intuitive marks to become adaptable compositions for textiles, paper goods, and home objects. In this way, the work extends beyond the studio, embedding moments of wonder, memory, and connection into the surfaces of daily life.
